How to link your vaccine certificate

To link your vaccine certificate to your Services Victoria app you will need a few things: 

  1. Have a myGov account 

  2. Have linked Medicare to your myGov account 

  3. Have had both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine (please note that it can take up to 10 days for your vaccinations to appear in the myGov system) 

  4. Services Victoria app installed on your phone 

Step 1

Create a myGov account

Follow the steps in this video to create a myGov account. If you are having trouble give the myGov support line a call on 13 23 07 (they are very helpful) 

Step 2

Linking Medicare to myGov

There are two ways to link Medicare to your myGov account: 

  1. Via your Medicare card You will need to answer a series of questions including, what is your BSB and Account number for your bank account, details of your last doctors appointment and what pharmacy you use. 

  2. Get a Linking Code Call the myGov help line on      13 23 07 to obtain your linking code and then follow the steps in the second video.  A lot of people find this method easier as you are speaking with an operator who will guide you through the process.

Step 3

Check to see if your vaccines have been registered with myGov

Login to your myGov account at http://my.gov.au

Click on the Medicare Logo 

Click on "Proof of vaccinations"

Click on "View History" 

If your COVID vaccine has been registered you will see the option to "View your COVID-19 Digital Certificate" click on this and you certificate will load. You can print this as a hard copy record. 

If your vaccine certificate does not appear, give the GP / Pharmacy or Vaccine Clinic where you received your jab and ask them to update your records. If you are still having trouble, please call the Australian Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809

Step 4

Download the Services Victoria app 

First, identify if you have have an iPhone or an Android device (eg Samsung) 

For iPhone: Open the App Store, click on the search icon (the magnifying glass) and enter Services Victoria. The Service Victoria app will appear, click on the "Get" icon. You might now be asked for your apple id password or for your finger print, enter this and click "Sign In". The app will now download and appear on the home screen once ready. 

For Android: Open the Play store app, click on the search bar at the top of the screen and enter Services Victoria. The Service Victoria app will be displayed, click on the "Install" button. You might now be asked for your google account password or for your finger print, enter this and click "Sign In". The app will now download and appear in the apps list once ready.

Open the Service Victoria app 

Click on the "certificates" icon.

Click on "Add certificate" 

Click on "Add certificate via myGov" 

Login into myGov 

Click on the Medicare Logo 

Click on "Proof of vaccinations"

Click on "View History" 

Scroll down the page to the COVID-19 digital certificate section and click on "Share with check in app" 

Select the "Services Victoria" icon

Accept the Terms and Conditions by scrolling to the bottom and clicking "Accept and share"

An "open with" window will appear select "Services Victoria" then click "Always"

The Services Victoria app will now open, click on "Add certificate" 

A green bar with a tick displaying the words "View certificate" will now appear. This means you have completed the process successfully :) 

Check in as normal at any venue and your certificate will be displayed.
