Assisting our community with the Sick pay Guarantee for casual workers

Tatura Community House is an official community outreach provider for the State Government’s Sick Pay Guarantee for Casual Workers. Eligible workers can get up to 38 hours of sick pay per year.

Which jobs are eligible?

  • Hospitality

  • Food trades or food preparation

  • Supermarkets

  • Retail

  • Sales

  • Aged and disability care

  • Cleaning and laundry

  • Security

What else is needed to be eligible?

  • 15 years or older.

  • Physically work in Victoria.

  • Have the right to work in Australia.

  • Work an average of 7.6 hours per week or more in an eligible job.

  • Don’t have access to sick and carer’s leave entitlements at any job.

We are assisting community members to receive their sick pay.

When should I sign up?

Casual workers should sign up as soon as possible. Don't wait until you're sick to sign up. If you sign up now, then everything is set up for when you get sick and need your sick pay.

How many hours are covered and who pays?

Up to 38 hours of sick pay will be paid by the State Government.

How do I sign up?

You sign up online. We will sign you up and help you through the whole process from signing up to claiming sick pay.

What do I need for signing up?

When you come to us to sign up for the Sick Pay Guarantee, you'll need to bring:

  • ID (drivers license, passport)

  • proof of work document, e.g. pay slip

  • ABN of your employer (we can look that up for you)

  • Address and phone number of your employer

  • BSB and account number of where you want to receive payments

 

How will it be paid to me?

Payments will be made directly into your bank account

What times are we assisting people with signing up and claiming sick pay?

Thursdays 10am to 12pm

Fridays 10am to 12pm

Other dates and time by appointment only.

Do I need to call and book a time?

Bookings are essential
